Carlin wasn't able to find success on the road in its previous game, but the return home seemed to do them good. It didn't have too many spare points in its contest with Independence, but still walked away with a 50 - 44 win. Carlin struggled to find the scoreboard the game before, so the high-scoring effort was a welcome change of pace.
The win bumped Carlin's record up to 2-3. The defeat brought Independence down to 1-3.
Both Independence and Carlin will be guarding their home fields in their upcoming games. Independence will square off against Owyhee this Friday at 3:00 PM. Based on the state rankings, we can expect a close game. As for Carlin, it will face off against Eureka Friday at 7:00 PM. Like Carlin, Eureka is also ranked highly in the state, so the team can expect a competitive contest.
