Volleyball Game Preview: Missisquoi Valley Thunderbirds vs. Harwood Highlanders + How To Watch

The Missisquoi Valley Thunderbirds are taking a road trip to challenge the Harwood Highlanders at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Missisquoi Valley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Vermont's top teams: Enosburg Falls, who was ranked sixth at the time (Missisquoi Valley was ranked 20th). The Thunderbirds came up short against the Hornets on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Thunderbirds haven't had much luck with the Hornets recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

While Missisquoi Valley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Enosburg Falls' winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-11, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Harwood lost 3-0 to Middlebury on Wednesday.

Harwood was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-18, 25-20.

Harwood's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Missisquoi Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-11.

Missisquoi Valley suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Harwood in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
