Volleyball Recap: The Academy Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when The Academy duked it out with Resurrection Christian on Friday. The Wildcats came up short against the Cougars, falling 3-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.

Olivia Deleon paced The Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Deleon got some help from Olivia Luxner and her 24 assists. Deleon was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Resurrection Christian was led to victory by Amanda Pardue and Blake Coors. Pardue had five digs and two aces, while Coors had 12 digs and three aces.

The Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Resurrection Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

The Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Horizon on the 3rd. As for Resurrection Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Riverdale Ridge on the 3rd.
