Providence School got a good showing from Ryan Smith, who struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up three earned runs off only one hit. That's the fewest hits Smith has allowed since back in March.
On the hitting side, Preston Ricchini was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Providence School's loss dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Episcopal School of Jacksonville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.
