Triway hasn't had much luck against Norwayne recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Titans will challenge the Bobcats at 5:00 p.m.
Triway is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Indian Valley on Friday. They fell 5-2 to the Braves.
Maddy Moran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and one unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Kenzie Gatti was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Ashley Braunscheidel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.
Meanwhile, Norwayne beat Hillsdale 6-3 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.
Norwayne also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: CJ Moore gave up just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Makenna Heyden, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two RBI. Avery Lonsbury was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI.
Norwayne pushed their record up to 19-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Triway, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.
Triway couldn't quite finish off Norwayne when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
