Baseball Recap: Glenbard South Sets Scoring Season-High Against Ridgewood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenbard South). They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Ridgewood Rebels on Monday. With that win, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Tommy Burke spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits.

On the hitting side, Jacob Garbett was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Tim Ewald was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Glenbard South kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Glenbard South's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12. As for Ridgewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8-1.

Glenbard South will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rebels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
