Baseball Game Preview: Immaculata Spartans vs. Ridge Red Devil

For the second straight game, Immaculata will face off against Ridge. The Spartans will be playing at home against the Red Devil at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Immaculata 1.8, Ridge 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Ridge will be up against a hot Immaculata team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Red Devil on Wednesday. The Spartans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ryan Auten tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Immaculata let Jackson Lewis and Conor Quinn run wild. Lewis went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Quinn went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That home run was Lewis' first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayson Labrador, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Immaculata kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Immaculata pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Ridge, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
