It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Reading Memorial can now relate to. They came up short against the King Philip Regional Warriors on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Rockets' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Reading Memorial was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 25-16.

Charlie Ballestas paced Reading Memorial's offense, picking up 18 kills. Ballestas got some help from Gianna Miceli and her 20 assists. Mary Furey controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

King Philip Regional got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cece Mullen out in front who had five aces and four digs. Mullen is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served five or more in each of the last four games she's played. Caleigh Shore was another key player, getting 16 digs.

Reading Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for King Philip Regional, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Reading Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for King Philip Regional, they will venture away from home to challenge Oliver Ames at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
