Baseball Recap: Lee Vining Comes Up Short

Lee Vining extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-7 in the process. They came up short against the Lone Pine Golden Eagles, falling 16-1. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

As for Lone Pine, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. The result was nothing new for Lone Pine, who have now won four contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Lone Pine's part, the team relied heavily on Maxiel Lopez Mojarro, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases and four runs. The Golden Eagles are undefeated when Lopez Mojarro posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Eduardo(Lalo) Isidro Romero was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.

Lee Vining has already played their next match, a 14-13 victory against Virginia City on the 29th. As for Lone Pine, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 14-3 win against Trona on the 29th.
