Soccer Recap: James Monroe Comes Up Short

James Monroe lost against Chancellor back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets fell 2-0 to the Chargers. While losing is never fun, James Monroe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Chancellor are ranked 63rd).

James Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for Chancellor, their victory bumped their record up to 12-1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. James Monroe will head out to face off against Culpeper County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Culpeper County's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Chancellor, they will venture away from home to take on Courtland at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Courtland will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Chancellor surely won't give up without a fight.
