Football Recap: South Iredell Vikings vs. Cox Mill Chargers
There's no place like home for South Iredell, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-10 win over the Cox Mill Chargers on Friday. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 31-20 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Iredell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Antoine, who rushed for 45 yards, and also threw for 53 yards and a touchdown. Those 45 rushing yards gave Antoine a new career-high. Brody Hunt also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.
South Iredell didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Antoine led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. South Iredell got some further help from Griffin Luxton: he picked up 0.5 sacks and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Cox Mill lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jordan Cleaves, who picked up 113 receiving yards and a touchdown.
