Basketball Recap: Lincoln Charter Comes Up Short

Lincoln Charter fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Community School of Davidson on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 75-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Community School of Davidson Spartans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (68), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Lincoln Charter still got an impressive performance from David Reed IV, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 rebounds. Reed IV also posted six blocks, which is notable because Lincoln Charter is 2-1 when he posts at least three blocks, but 1-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Mckennon Showers, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and five steals.

Lincoln Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Community School of Davidson, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Lincoln Charter didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 84-38 win against Legion Collegiate Academy on the 18th. Community School of Davidson has also already played their next game, a 92-69 loss against Cannon on the 19th.
