Baseball Game Preview: Fort Wayne Bishop Luers Knights vs. Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Cadets

For the second straight game, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers will face off against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran. The Knights will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Cadets at 5:30 p.m. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers needed a bit of extra time to put away Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran. They won by a run and slipped past the Cadets 3-2. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Cadets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Ben Kiracofe made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI. He has become a key player for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-7 otherwise.

In other pitching news, Anthony Antonuccio looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 3-1 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).
