Basketball Recap: Teriana Newkirk's Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Lenoir over Greene Central + How To Watch

After flying high against South Lenoir on Friday, North Lenoir came back down to earth. The Hawks fell 41-37 to the Greene Central Rams on Tuesday. The Hawks haven't had much luck with the Rams recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

North Lenoir's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teriana Newkirk, who posted five points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Myracle Samples, who earned ten points and five boards.

Greene Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Azaria Mumford, who went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points and six steals. An'Nysha Wooten was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

North Lenoir's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Greene Central beat the Hawks by a score of 52-36 on Tuesday.
