Soccer Game Preview: Basha vs. Sunnyslope

The Basha Bears will venture away from home to challenge the Sunnyslope Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Basha is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Hamilton, who was ranked 24th at the time (Basha was ranked 23rd). Basha fell just short of Hamilton by a score of 2-1 on Wednesday. That makes it the first time this season the Bears have let down their home crowd.

Meanwhile, Sunnyslope earned a 3-1 victory over Rincon/University on Thursday.

Basha's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. As for Sunnyslope, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Everything went Basha's way against Sunnyslope in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, as Basha made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Basha since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
