Basketball Recap: Sterling Takes a Loss

Sterling was the 48-18 winner over Southern when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Sterling Jets lost 59-39 to the Southern Raiders on Friday.

Sterling has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-11 record this season. As for Southern, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Sterling and Southern could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings. Sterling (ranked 241st) will meet Lourdes Central Catholic (ranked 53rd) on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southern will square off against Sacred Heart on Tuesday down 180 places (215 vs. 35).
