Recap: Kirby Prep Griffins vs. Apostles Lutheran Falcons

On Saturday, things could have been worse for Kirby Prep, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-39 loss to Apostles Lutheran.

Several Griffins players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rain Li, who scored 15 points. Li scored a full 38.5% of Kirby Prep's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Chris Lively was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

Apostles Lutheran's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lamek Medhanie, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Bork, who scored 16 points.

Kirby Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Apostles Lutheran, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kirby Prep will square off against Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Apostles Lutheran, they will head out on the road to face off against Patten Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Patten Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
