Baseball Recap: Logan Takes a Loss

Logan and Carbon squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Logan had to settle for second. They came up short against the Dinos, falling 13-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Grizzlies have suffered since April 14th.

Zac Stuart made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Logan: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-17 otherwise.

Logan's defeat dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Carbon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-16.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Logan will square off against Emery at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.63 runs per game on average), something the Grizzlies will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Carbon, they will take on Grantsville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cowboys' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Dinos' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
