Softball Recap: Arcata Takes a Loss

Arcata was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They came up short against the McKinleyville Panthers, falling 16-8. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Alli Mitchell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Peyton Miller, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Arcata's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for McKinleyville, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Panthers beat Arcata by a score of 18-5 later that day.
