Softball Recap: Perry Pumas vs. Basha Bears
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Perry can now relate to. They fell just short of the Basha Bears by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Pumas have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
Brynlee Brassfield was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 5.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double.
Brassfield wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jasmine Abeyta, who went 2-for-3 with one run.
