It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Poth had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They didn't even let the Palacios Sharks on the board, marking their second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 matchups by six runs or more this season.

The victory (which was Poth's ninth in a row) raised their record to 26-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Palacios, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.

Poth will take on Cotulla on Saturday. Palacios does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
