Baseball Game Preview: Grant Lancers vs. Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers

The Grant Lancers will head out to challenge the Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences Vipers at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Grant is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Grant and Monroe, and Monroe kept the tradition alive. Grant fell just short of Monroe by a score of 8-6 on Friday.

Matthew Gonzalez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-3. Jonathan Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chavez.

Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences' defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Grant, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.
