SPIRE Academh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the Holy Name Green Wave, falling 3-0.
SPIRE Academh took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-22.
Leading Holy Name to victory were Lillian Jurec and Hayden Wells. Jurec had nine digs, while Wells had 16 digs, two aces, and a kill. Wells is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
SPIRE Academh's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Holy Name, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13.
SPIRE Academh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holy Name, they are on the road again on Thursday to play Beaumont School at 6:30 p.m.
