Basketball Recap: West Carrollton Takes a Loss

West Carrollton had lost four straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-11 to make it five. They took a hard 69-53 fall against the Fairborn Skyhawks. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Skyhawks earlier this season, when they won 48-45.

As for Fairborn, their win bumped their record up to 4-10. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Fairborn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooklynn Kimball led the charge by dropping a double-double with 27 points and 16 boards. Kimball has become a key player for the Skyhawks: the team is 4-1 when she posts at least 15 points, but 0-9 otherwise. Jordyn Brown was another key player, shooting 54% from the field on her way to 17 points and six steals.

West Carrollton has already played their next contest, a 41-36 victory against Piqua on the 14th. As for Fairborn, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-30 defeat against Butler on the 16th.
