Marionville skates past Wheaton with ease

The Marionville Comets won the last time they faced the Wheaton Bulldogs, and things went their way on Monday too. Marionville breezed by Wheaton at home to the tune of 66-18. With Marionville ahead 31-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Lucy Newberry was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Another player making a difference was Lanie Stokes, who scored 10 points along with 6 steals.

The victory makes it two in a row for Marionville and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Wheaton, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marionville will face off against Blue Eye on Wednesday. As for Wheaton, they will head out on the road to face off against Jasper on Wednesday.
