Payette scored the most runs they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Homedale Trojans by a score of 13-12. The Pirates have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Victoria Walker was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those home runs were her first of the season. Haylo Collingwood was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and three runs.

Payette's record now sits at 3-8. As for Homedale, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7.

While Payette had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
