Sierra Canyon won the last time they faced Kennedy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Trailblazers had just enough and edged out the Cougars 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trailblazers have posted since April 22, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Nina Peyton-Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Nylah Melendez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

The win made it two in a row for Sierra Canyon and bumps their season record up to 11-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Kennedy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Sierra Canyon is taking a road trip to challenge Louisville at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Trailblazers are facing the Royals at the right time seeing as the Royals are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Kennedy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-7 win against Poly on the 2nd.
