Basketball Game Preview: St. Edward's Pirates vs. Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds

After both having extra time off, the St. Edward's Pirates and the Lincoln Park Academy Greyhounds will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Wednesday, St. Edward's came up short against Benjamin and fell 59-46. The defeat continues a trend for the Pirates in their meetings with the Buccaneers: they've now lost three in a row.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cody Simmonds, who shot 40% from the field to rack up 13 points and six assists. Another player making a difference was Cole Register, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, Lincoln Park Academy also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Somerset College Prep Academy by a score of 49-41.

St. Edward's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Lincoln Park Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

St. Edward's couldn't quite finish off Lincoln Park Academy in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 and fell 62-59. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
