Baseball Recap: Coachella Valley Comes Up Short

Coachella Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Indio Rajahs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rajahs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 last Monday.

Coachella Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andruw Hernandez, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Coachella Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Indio, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coachella Valley will take on Twentynine Palms at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Mighty Arabs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Indio, they will challenge Yucca Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rajahs are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
