Basketball Recap: Philip Barbour Makes It Six in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Philip Barbour, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers by a score of 67-54 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Colts in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now won three in a row.

Leading Philip Barbour to victory were Izzy Knotts and Finley Carpenter. Knotts dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten rebounds, while Carpenter went 8-for-14 to rack up 20 points and six steals. What's more, Carpenter also posted a 57% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Taitem Jeffries, who posted nine points along with six boards and three steals.

Buckhannon-Upshur's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Allie Key, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds, and Alyssa Abel, who put up 21 points and eight boards. That was a full 38.9% of Buckhannon-Upshur's points, marking the third time in a row Abel has had more than a third of the team's points.
