Baseball Game Preview: Yuma Criminals vs. Dysart Demons

For the second straight game, Yuma will face off against Dysart. The Criminals will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Demons at 4:00 p.m. Yuma is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Yuma barely beat Dysart the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Criminals' pitcher stepped up to hand the Demons an 11-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Criminals have beaten the Demons the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Demons has come to flipping the script.

Juan Ayala made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Ayala was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Eli Lujan was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaime Ruelas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Dysart and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Yuma, their win bumped their record up to 13-5-1.
