Softball Recap: Richland Northeast Takes a Loss

If Richland Northeast was feeling good fresh off their 14-5 takedown of Columbia back in February, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Richland Northeast Cavaliers came up short against the Lakewood Gators on Thursday, falling 12-1.

Richland Northeast now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Lakewood, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richland Northeast is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will face off against Lancaster at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Richland Northeast their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Lakewood, they will take on South Florence at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
