Softball Game Preview: Liberty County Bulldogs vs. Holmes County Blue Devils

The Liberty County Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Holmes County Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty County will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, everything went Liberty County's way against Wewahitchka as Liberty County made off with a 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won six contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Liberty County got a massive performance out of Mackenzie Walker, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Caitlyn Harris, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Liberty County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Holmes County suffered their closest defeat since April 12, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Wakulla by a score of 2-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.

Bri Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

Holmes County's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Liberty County, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Liberty County has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Holmes County struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Liberty County beat Holmes County 4-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Liberty County since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
