Basketball Recap: Four Straight Road Victories for Mt. Ararat

Mt. Ararat won the last time they faced Westbrook and things went their way on Friday too. The Mt. Ararat Eagles came out on top against the Westbrook Blue Blazes by a score of 67-54. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Blue Blazes are ranked 55th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Westbrook still got an impressive performance from Kylie Young, who went 8 of 13 en route to 21 points and eight rebounds. Young has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Bolden, who posted 13 points and six boards.

Mt. Ararat pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Westbrook, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Ararat will challenge Oceanside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Oceanside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.1 points per game this season. As for Westbrook, they will face off against Marshwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Marshwood will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Westbrook surely won't give up without a fight.
