Softball Recap: Thousand Oaks Wins Going Away Against Paso Robles

While Thousand Oaks put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Paso Robles. The Lancers were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Bearcats. Considering the Lancers have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Claire Kirby made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Kirby was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Jauregui, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Morgan Casillas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Thousand Oaks was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Thousand Oaks' win bumped their record up to 16-5-1. As for Paso Robles, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-10-1.

Looking ahead, Thousand Oaks will welcome Burroughs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Paso Robles, they will host Atascadero at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
