Baseball Game Preview: Azle Hornets vs. Aledo Bearcats

Azle hasn't had much luck against Aledo recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Hornets will host the Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Azle 4, Aledo 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Azle took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Brewer by a score of 8-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, Aledo waltzed into their contest on Friday with 14 straight wins... but they left with 15. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Pirates.

Dane Browne looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Aledo let Landon Barnes and Dylan Duran run wild. Barnes went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Duran went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI Duran has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Poindexter, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Aledo's win bumped their record up to 29-4. As for Azle, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9-3.
