Basketball Recap: Lowndes Takes a Loss

Lowndes was the 53-37 winner over Tift County when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Lowndes Vikings were just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 43-42 to the Tift County Blue Devils.

Despite the loss, Lowndes still got an impressive performance from Isaiah Camon, who posted 14 points. Wyatt Ferguson was another key player, putting up three points.

Even though they lost, Lowndes smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tift County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaden Lawson, who went 6 of 9 en route to 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JJ Lamar, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 13 points and six assists.

Lowndes' defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Tift County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Lowndes will face off against Richmond Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lowndes is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.1 points per game this season. As for Tift County, they will challenge Veterans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Veterans also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 59.1 points per game.
