Softball Recap: Althoff Catholic Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Althoff Catholic's offense. They came up short against the New Athens Yellow Jackets on Monday, falling 18-0. The loss leaves the Crusaders still looking for their first win of the season.

Althoff Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for New Athens, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Althoff Catholic will head out to square off against Gibault Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for New Athens, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Carlyle at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. New Athens' pitchers better be ready for this one: Carlyle has averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
