Mulberry piles up the points against Plant City

Recap: Mulberry Panthers vs. Plant City Raiders

The Mulberry Panthers stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They breezed by Plant City at home to the tune of 57-17. The win was familiar territory for Mulberry who now have five in a row.

Lorianys Castanon Cruz was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 38 points and 17 steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mulberry's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Standifer, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Mulberry has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Plant City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-19.

Mulberry will face off against the Titans at TBD on Monday. As for Plant City, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Lions at 8:00 p.m. on January 30th. King is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
