Baseball Recap: Kirk Academy Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Kirk Academy put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 9-2 margin over the Manchester Academy Mavericks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 back in February.

Landon Rice was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jace West, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Conner Timbs, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Kirk Academy's record now sits at 3-0. As for Manchester Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

Looking ahead, Kirk Academy will welcome Marshall Academy at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Manchester Academy, they will take on Winston Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
