Elkhorn made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Milton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Elks blew past the Red Hawks 11-2 on Saturday. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Elks this season.
Veronica Siegler was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
In other batting news, Macy Salek was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That hit was her first of the season. Addison Schliepp was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
