Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Amat Lancers vs. St. Paul Swordsmen

For the second straight game, Bishop Amat will face off against St. Paul. Bishop Amat will welcome St. Paul at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bishop Amat 2, St. Paul 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Tuesday, Bishop Amat needed a bit of extra time to put away St. Paul. They came out on top against the Swordsmen by a score of 4-1. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Swordsmen recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Bishop Amat got a great performance from Izaac Muniz as he struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those 11 strikeouts gave Muniz a new career-high.

At the plate, Santiago Ramirez was excellent, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Joaquin Ortiz, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Bishop Amat's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for St. Paul, they moved to 10-4 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
