Basketball Recap: Saguaro Takes a Loss

Saguaro lost against Horizon back in December of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Saguaro Sabercats were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 40-39 to the Horizon Huskies.

Horizon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paisy Perkins, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 19 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Perkins a new career-high in boards. Peyton Schiltz was another key player, putting up 15 points along with seven assists and seven boards.

Saguaro's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Horizon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-5.

Saguaro will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mesquite at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Horizon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 43-30 defeat against Oregon City on the 21st.
