Port Charlotte's loss ends three-game winning streak on the road

Recap: Port Charlotte Pirates vs. Sarasota Sailors

It was a good run, but the Port Charlotte Pirates unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 61-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sarasota.

Sarasota found their leader in underclassman Paisley Binswanger, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Binswanger pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sofi Miller, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.

Port Charlotte's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10. As for Sarasota, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port Charlotte won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lakewood Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Lakewood Ranch will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Port Charlotte is ranked 132nd). As for Sarasota, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Charlotte at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
