Baseball Recap: Niles Notre Dame Takes a Loss

Niles Notre Dame extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 7-6-1 in the process. They fell 10-5 to the Marist RedHawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the RedHawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 on Saturday.

Dominic Holton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

As for Marist, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.

On Marist's side, the team relied heavily on Emmitt Senger, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. The dominant performance also gave Senger a new career-high in hits (two). Another player making a difference was Charlie Dunneback, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Niles Notre Dame will take on Northridge at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Marist, they will challenge Benet Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
