Football Game Preview: King & Queen Central vs. Mathews

King & Queen Central have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. They will take on Mathews at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. If the 0-2 final from the last time they met is any indication, this game will be decided by the defense.

King & Queen Central have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out Rappahannock County 32-29. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.

Meanwhile, Mathews took a serious blow against Rappahannock last Friday, falling 8-48.

King & Queen Central's victory lifted them to 1-3 while Mathews's loss dropped them down to 0-5. In their victory, King & Queen Central relied heavily on senior Amonte Hill, who rushed for 237 yards and 1 touchdown. Mathews will need to find a way to minimize his impact if they want to win.
