Basketball Game Preview: Squalicum Storm vs. Mount Vernon Bulldogs

Squalicum hasn't had much luck against Mount Vernon recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Squalicum Storm will square off against the Mount Vernon Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. Squalicum will be strutting in after a win while Mount Vernon will be coming in after a loss.

On Saturday, Squalicum earned a 62-51 victory over Mt. Baker. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Storm.

Meanwhile, Mount Vernon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-52 heartbreaker at the hands of Ferndale.

Mount Vernon's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Squalicum, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Squalicum couldn't quite finish off Mount Vernon in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 61-58. Can Squalicum avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
