Softball Recap: West Hills Wins Going Away Against Valhalla

West Hills had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Valhalla on Thursday. The Wolf Pack were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Norsemen. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 4-3 back in April.

Not much got past Ava Goodman, who gave up just a hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Valhalla off the board. Goodman has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kristina Deal, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April. Katy Spargo was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valhalla only managed two hits.

West Hills has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-9-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Valhalla, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-21.

As of now, neither West Hills nor the Norsemen have any future games scheduled.
