Basketball Recap: Moyers Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

It was a proper cat-fight when Moyers duked it out withCoalgate on Monday. The Moyers Tigers came out on top against the Coalgate Wildcats by a score of 58-51. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Wildcats are ranked 421st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Moyers' win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Coalgate, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Moyers will venture away from home to square off against Wapanucka at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Moyers is facing Wapanucka at the right time seeing as Wapanucka is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. Coalgate has already played their next contest, a 77-50 defeat against Valliant on the 14th.
