Basketball Game Preview: Franklin Academy Cougars vs. Prairie View Academy Spartans

Franklin Academy hasn't had much luck against Prairie View Academy recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Franklin Academy Cougars will host the Prairie View Academy Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Franklin Academy is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 82-18 loss at the hands of River Oaks. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Mustangs are ranked 45th).

Meanwhile, Prairie View Academy played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 69-45 to River Oaks. The Spartans were down 53-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Franklin Academy will have to contain Tollan Wallace as he made an impact in Prairie View Academy's last game. He went 6 of 14 on his way to 13 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Abram Anthony, who posted five points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, Prairie View Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive games.

Prairie View Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Franklin Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Franklin Academy took a serious blow against Prairie View Academy in their previous matchup on Monday, falling 66-11. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Franklin Academy was down 50-9.
